The town of Rietberg and its immediate surroundings offer a rich cultural ensemble for everyone: museums, theatres, and some rare specimens of historical architecture from different eras can be explored on foot, by bicycle or after a short drive by car. These include, for example, the Kunsthaus Rietberg (Wilfried Koch Museum) together with the monastery gardens, the cultura stage modelled after London’s famous Globe Theatre, the historic Heimathaus with its ornithological collection, as well as many other architectural monuments and various sights related to the history of religion.

The Welle public pool in nearby Gütersloh is one of the most popular leisure pools in the region for kids and adults alike. With a multi-feature adventure pool and a large outdoor pool, including slides, whirlpool and a steam bath, a lot of fun is guaranteed. In Summer, you will also find the smaller but very idyllic Rietberg open-air pool worth a visit, where swimmers of all ages can refresh can cool down and refresh themselves in both the Olympic sized swimming pool and the non-swimmers’ areas.
