A visit to the area where the Regional Garden Show was held in 2008 is a must for any nature-loving visitor of Rietberg. Here, you will discover some real highlights of gardening and landscape design as well as some botanical rarities – all while enjoying a relaxed walk out in the open. The town of Rietberg and its surrounding area offer a rich cultural program for almost every interest: museums, theaters, and some rare examples of historical architecture from different eras can be explored on foot, by bike, or after a short drive. These include, for example, the Kunsthaus Rietberg (Wilfried Koch Museum) in conjunction with the monastery garden, the cultura stage modeled on London’s famous Globe Theater, the historic local history museum with its ornithological collection, and many other architectural monuments and sights, especially those related to religious history.

The Welle public pool in nearby Gütersloh is one of the most popular leisure pools in the region for kids and adults alike. With a multi-feature adventure pool and a large outdoor pool, including slides, whirlpool and a steam bath, a lot of fun is guaranteed. In Summer, you will also find the smaller but very idyllic Rietberg open-air pool worth a visit, where swimmers of all ages can refresh can cool down and refresh themselves in both the Olympic sized swimming pool and the non-swimmers’ areas.

Less than half an hour’s drive from the Lind Hotel is the Safariland Stukenbrock, where exotic animals can be observed in a drive-through outdoor area directly from your car. In addition, the extensive amusement park with a large selection of rides and various restaurant services provides unique experiences for children and parents alike from April to October.

No matter what pace you like to walk at or how far you like to go, when you stay at the Lind Hotel, relaxation and nature are practically on your doorstep. The circular hiking trails through the historic town center and various nature reserves in the surrounding area offer a relaxing break from the daily grind and work stress.
